NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota has open primaries. Voters are able to choose any political party’s primary to vote in. However, voters are not allowed to cross party lines on the primary ballot and may only vote for candidates from one political party. North Dakota does not require voter registration. To vote, you only need to provide valid ID with your current address and date of birth at the polling place. Acceptable IDs include a driver's license, non-driver's ID, tribal ID, or long-term care ID certificate. There is no online voter registration process in North Dakota.
